Technology Transfer & Commercialization
The Office of Technology Transfer and Commercialization (OTTC) at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology connects innovative research projects conducted at the university with business and industry. Our mission is to contribute to the university's goals of fostering economic development through the development of intellectual property.
OUR ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:
- Protecting intellectual property;
- Policy development;
- Accessing funding for technology development;
- Creating commercialization strategies; and
- Negotiating agreements.
WE HELP INDUSTRY BY:
- Serving as a contact point to facilitate constructive interaction with the university community;
- Finding the right individuals and research programs to complement your business goals; and
- Negotiating agreements and licenses on technologies ready for commercialization.
WE HELP FACULTY AND STUDENTS BY:
- Helping researchers to understand intellectual property and the business environment to achieve their innovation goals;
- Supporting the management of intellectual property to facilitate technology development and commercialization; and
- Facilitating research partnerships with industry.
