Research at UOIT

Student research

Student in learning commons at UOIT.

UOIT provides both undergraduate and graduate students with the enriched and distinctive learning experience that comes from being part of a dynamic research community. At UOIT we recognize that having the opportunity to take part in research and share in critical discoveries at an early stage of student development is an important aspect of a student's university experience.

Students at UOIT participating in research activities will have the opportunity to experience the following:

  • Co-author and publish research papers;
  • Participate in the UOIT Student Research Day and develop presentation and research poster development skills;
  • Participate in scholarly conferences;
  • Opportunities to apply for and receive internal/external student funding to support research endeavors.

As undergrads, the world of research is often confusing and hard to navigate. It's hard to find research assistant positions, let alone find the money to support your work. This website will help you to find positions to apply for, direct you to some agencies that may fund your research, and answer some common questions.
