The Future of Advanced Manufacturing Forum

Manufacturing, a key driver of Ontario’s economy for more than 150 years, constitutes a vibrant, highly innovative and technology-driven industry. Manufacturing is shifting from a labour-intensive mechanical process to an advanced technology-based process. Advanced manufacturing processes have already proven to be more energy- and resource-efficient, but much needs to be done to integrate sustainable advanced-manufacturing techniques into business practices to further reduce costs, decrease supply-chain risks, and enhance product appeal to customers. This forum is designed to initiate dialogue that can inform a collaborative and co-operative innovation system that will fuel leading-edge research, drive economic growth and improve quality of life in the Durham Region and Ontario.
